Theoretical foundations of nanoscale quantum devices. (2021)
Premaratne, Malin, Agrawal, G. P. (Govind P.). New York : Cambridge University Press.
In this book, we build a toolset useful for designing, controlling, and understanding the operation of such devices. Understanding of nature is based on simplified models with varying degrees of complexity that can be easily manipulated and observed. Our motivation behind this book is to show that such models of nanoscale quantum devices can be used to understand their operation and to optimize their performance. We achieve this goal by adopting quantum mechanics for the description of nanoscale devices. This book is an attempt to bring widely spread diverse theoretical tools under a single volume that should prove useful for both graduate students and scientists or engineers interested in using nanoscale quantum devices for various applications. Many books cover distinct areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology separately. This book is not intended to replace them but to complement them. The book content is the toolset that authors use in their day-to-day research work as active researchers in the field of nanophtonics.
Inheritance : how our genes change our lives and our lives change our genes. (2015). Moalem, Sharon, LaPlante, Matthew D. New York : Grand Central Publishing.

Edmund de Waal : library of exile. (2020) De Waal, Edmund, Fischer, Hartwig.
London : British Museum Press.
Created as a 'space to sit and read and be', 'library of exile' is an installation by British artist and writer, Edmund de Waal, housing more than 2,000 books in translation, written by exiled authors. Unveiled to great acclaim during the Venice Biennale 2019, this porcelain-covered pavilion is intended as a place of contemplation and dialogue. 'It is about exile,' says de Waal, 'what it means to have to move to another country, to speak another language. From Ovid and Dante to Marina Tsvetaeva and Judith Kerr, the library forms a record of repression while celebrating the response of the displaced. Almost all of the books are in translation, reflecting the idea of language as a form of migration. Each book has an 'ex libris' label so visitors can write their name inside ones that matter to them. Alongside the books hangs a quartet of de Waal's own vitrines, 'psalm, I-IV' (2019), holding pieces of porcelain, marble and steel. Their arrangements echo the composition of Daniel Bomberg's 16th-century edition of the Talmud, a central text of Judaism, printed in Venice and notable for holding the Hebrew text, Aramaic translation and commentary on a single page. Following its display at the British Museum, the books featured in the library of exile will be donated by the artist to the University of Mosul Library, with the kind participation of Book Aid International. Exhibition: British Museum, London, UK (dates TBD).

Elements of Chinese and Japanese design. (2003). Amsterdam, the Netherlands : Pepin Press.
Ornaments is not restricted to a mere reproduction of the original designs, though; it also provides commentary based on the original annotations of the Audsleys and describes the background of ornament from a perspective of the history of style and cultural studies, from Ancient Greece to the Middle Ages, from the Renaissance to classicism, from Japanese style to floral style. The book is completed by detailed instructions on how to copy the ornaments.
